In your document, click the text or image you want to hyperlink.

When you have selected text, click the Insert Link icon in the toolbar at the top of the page.  Alternatively, you can navigate to the Insert menu at the top and then click on the link.

Paste the link in the box that appears and press Apply on Google docs.

Similarly, you can select the text you want to hyperlink and right-click your mouse, select Insert Link, and follow the same procedure.  If you want to use a shortcut, you can use Ctrl + K on Windows, Chromebooks or Command + K on your Mac and another method on Linux.

1.Right-click on the selected text and choose the Link option.

2.Use the Ctrl + K keyboard shortcut to hyperlink your selected text.

Since you can add a link to an image in Google Docs and it can effectively link to any file or page on the Internet, you can use the same hyperlink method if you want to add a link to an image in Google Docs. For example, you might want to locate an image of a painting on a website and add that link to your text.  Then when people click on the link they will see the image.
